My way of working

It is not just what I do as a consultant that matters. It is how I do it and the quality of attention I bring to it. In my work I focus my attention...

... on careful scoping of my assignment.

Solutions do not emerge from the same mindset in which problems are defined. The way a 'problem' or the reason for consultation is framed is often part of the problem itself. This means that while I take my clients seriously, I do not take their first idea for change at face value or make myself its agent. I trust my clients' capabilities — if the problem could have been solved in the way they envision, they would have already solved it. In coaching and consulting processes, alternative or additional goals often emerge as essential. Clarifying my assignment and bringing in new stakeholders or perspectives is therefore not a one-off process, but a recurring part of my work.

... customized and sustainable solutions.

Although I gladly share my experiences from over 20 years of consulting in various industries and companies — as well as my personal insights from someone in the second half of their life — you will not receive generic answers or blanket success formulas from me. Instead, I support you in developing solutions that are right for you.

... existing resources and potential.

I analyse what is already working well for you and what solutions have already been implemented. "What strengths can be built on? You think you need a strategy, but you already have one; what does it currently look like? You think this is what you want, but what does your actual behaviour tell you? What is worth preserving when faced with upcoming changes?" These examples showcase what I consider so that new developments are firmly anchored. Change does not always occur automatically — sometimes you have to cultivate the motivation and energy for transformation. It is important to harness these resources consciously — or to deliberately decide not to pursue change for the right reasons.

... opening up new perspectives and opportunities.

Rather than addressing the symptoms of a problem, I work with you on finding solutions for your specific situation. Identifying the cause of a problem is not always necessary. Often, it can be more helpful to choose a different frame of reference — for example, by involving another level of leadership in the change process or, in individual coaching, shifting the focus to social environments or unhealed wounds from your own personal history. This kind of out-of-the-box thinking can lead to unconventional solutions.

... genuine and dynamic development processes.

Authenticity. Resonance. Depth. Together, we focus on what truly matters, on the issues that carry energy. The mental and emotional processes that are touched upon in our work have their own timing, which needs to be respected. The methods I use aim to initiate evolving processes of development and personal growth. These cannot be "made", but sometimes they can be facilitated. To this end, I draw from a wide range of methodologies and am not tied to any single school of thought.

... the concrete next step.

Superficial thinking followed by quick action — this is something we often see in many organisations. And it often falls short. But once we take the time to explore deeply and arrive at new insights, knowing which next small step to take can be very helpful. It often makes change possible in the first place. Taking action and translating initial ideas into practical steps can be beneficial: changes becomes tangible in everyday life. New approaches and strategies can be tested in daily practice and continuously refined until all the details are right.

Your benefit: Step by step, we work together to identify the issues that are really worth working on. My impulses create space for experimentation and new approaches. Together, we find sustainable solutions that work for you.
